Travel, Food, and Activities
Below you’ll find details about travel and accommodations, and recommendations to make this a whole weekend trip.
Getting Around
Are you in Colorado already?
The Grant-Humphreys Mansion is located at 770 N Pennsylvania St, Denver, CO 80203. The entire wedding will be held there, from ceremony to reception.
There will be limited, free parking (arrive early!) reserved for our guests in a lot on the corner of E 8th Ave & Pearl St. or you can find street parking around the neighborhood.
Are you flying in?
Lyfts/Ubers or other ride share apps make it super easy to get around the city (and will be especially easy to get to/from our venue from downtown.) We’d recommend renting a car if you’re looking to hike or explore beyond downtown Denver.
From the airport, you can take the A Line Light Rail into Union Station ($9 each way) or grab a car via ride share app. Depending on where you’re staying, you can likely walk to your hotel from the station or take a car!
Or you can e-scooter everywhere. That’s Chandler’s choice.
Accommodations
Denver has a ton of great options for places to stay, so we recommend looking for something that best suits your individual or family needs!
We’ve reserved a hotel block at The Maven (1850 Wazee Street, Denver, CO 80202)
This hotel is walking distance from Union Station, and an 11 minute car ride from our venue. It’s on top of the Dairy Block, a large market with great coffee, restaurants, shops, and bars. Hotel guests get a small discount on all the Dairy Block spots!

1600 17th St, Denver, CO 80202
We’ve never stayed here but look how nice it is! It’s connected to Union Station, so it’s a breeze if you’re coming from the airport.
1100 14th St, Denver, CO 80202
We celebrated an anniversary here and loved it. The hotel restaurant is top notch.
Food Recommendations
Onefold: Best breakfast burritos in town. Get one smothered in green chile. You won’t regret it!!
Snooze, an A.M Eatery: Meg forced Chandler to put this on this list; it’s a regional chain with many locations (including one in the airport) and you can get any kind of eggs Benedict on top of a hashbrown.
Little Owl Coffee: Great coffee close to Union Station.
Penelope Coffee Bar: Cutie coffee spot around the corner from the Maven, located inside the Free Market building.
Breakfast, Coffee, and Brunch
Denver Central Market: Indoor market featuring tons of local vendors.
Dairy Block Market: Similar situation to the Denver Central Market; lots of cuisine options!
Steuben’s: American classics like Fried Chicken, Nashville Hot Fried Chicken, Chicken & Waffles, etc.
Torchy’s Tacos: An easy taco spot for a quick lunch. They have a bunch of locations around the city.
Little Man Ice Cream: Best ice cream in Denver (besides Bonnie Brae which is too far south for us to reasonably link here.) It’s a little further north so grab dinner at Linger or Root Down while you’re in the area!
Lunch and Treats
Dinner and Drinks
Trattoria Stella: Cozy Italian where we had one of our very first Denver dates in 2020.
Tamayo: Modern Mexican, amazing margaritas, you won’t regret it!
Uchi: The best sushi, sashimi and Japanese cuisine in Denver.
Linger: This used to be a mortuary and now it’s a small-plate restaurant. It’s tasty and not spooky!
Root Down: Located in the Highlands, the food is delicious and great to share with a group.
Bistro LeRoux: A lovely option for a romantic date night. We had a date here once too.
Seven Grand: A spacious bar with pool tables and outdoor seating, right next to the Dairy Block.
Activities
Denver Art Museum: Great building and even greater art inside.
Denver Museum of Nature and Science: We are big fans of the Minerals & Gems Hall, and the Space exhibit. They set it up so it feels like you’re inside a space shuttle (!!)
Museum of Contemporary Art: Excellent rooftop to take a break from the art, if you need a break.
American Museum of Western Art: Incredible collection of landscapes and depictions of the wild west.
History Colorado Center: Interactive CO history museum. Free for kids!
Museums and Art
Meow Wolf: Absolutely WILD interactive art experience. If you only do one thing besides our wedding, do this.
Dairy Block Market: Lively Denver micro-district with lots of shopping and restaurants.
16th Street Mall: Downtown Denver shopping hub.
Larimer Square: Historic Denver block with shops and restaurants, including great record and thrift stores. Most of the bars on the square have outdoor seating!
Entertainment and Shopping
Red Rocks: Gorgeous park and venue. Looks like Joe Bonamassa is playing on Sunday if that’s of interest.
Rocky Mountain National Park: Ideal spot for a post-wedding camping trip or a day hike!
Lookout Mountain: The tallest mountain in Golden, this is a great day hike just west of Denver. Buffalo Bill’s grave is at the top, woah.
Devil’s Head: A fairly easy hike with a lookout tower at the top, giving you great views of the city.
